With school finals and classes gettting tougher as I move through them, it leaves little time for crafting. Although I have come across some groovy things to try and just can't help but testing them out.
I found some very cool image transfer techniques here that I wanted to try out. Being in a pinch and not getting out and about much lately, I didn't have any gel medium or caulking around, so I tried Modge Podge... it worked, but you have to be extremely careful not to rub the modge podge off - or you will rub your image all of the way off.
You also need to be aware that if you rub with your fingers and it is a large area, you will get friction blisters or just rub the skin off of your finger - I found this out the hard way. Ouch.
But it was worth it:
It's a wooden box shaped like a book, about 13" x 13". It isn't finished yet. I will be putting a velvet "binding" on it and making the "pages" look more papery by decoupaging it. I'll post when I am done.
The box will end up holding my BPAL perfume collection... yay! But I plan on making more to put in my Etsy shop. Well, after my fingers heal...
